William Clyde “Will’ Tweedy, 48, passed away at 2:02 p.m. on April 7, 2022 after a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer. “Will” as he was affectionately known, was born February 24, 1974, to proud parents Martha Sue St. Amant Tweedy and William F. Tweedy, Jr. Funeral arrangements provided by Rabenhorst Funeral Home. Services conducted by Ministers: Dr. Leonard Ezell, Rev. Bobby Rayburn, and Minister of Music: Dr. Paul Henderson will be at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 9755 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Visitation is 9:00 to 11:00 am with services starting at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pall Bearers are Collin Coburn, Devin Graham, Lee Lormand, Johnny Patrick, Dr. Jim Rhorer, Michael Strickland, Craig Swiger, and Mark Warner. Honorary Pallbearers: Brett Swiger and David Tweedy. A 1992 graduate of University Laboratory School, Will continued his education at LSU while serving as a tennis coordinator at BREC. Will finished his BA at Louisiana College where he coached the women’s tennis team. Returning to Baton Rouge, he continued as tennis coordinator at BREC for several years while also working full-time at Southwest Airlines until he retired. Will loved to travel, made friends wherever he landed, enjoyed great food, and good times. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Martha Sue St. Amant Tweedy, his maternal grandparents, Susie West St. Amant and Judge Clyde V. St. Amant; his paternal grandparents, Bonnie Crum Tweedy Johnson, William Frank Tweedy, Sr. and Norman “Bo” Johnson. Will is survived by his faithful fur-baby companion DOG (DEE-O-GEE), Father, William F. Tweedy, Jr. (Julia); Brother, Paul Tweedy (Rexie), Sister, Rhonda Tweedy Swiger (David), nephews, Craig Swiger (Megan); Brett Swiger (Jessica); David Tweedy; Niece, Mary Catherine Tweedy Schmidt (Justin); cousins, Scott St. Amant (Vanessa) and Nikki St. Amant Coburn (Colin); Aunt Madeline St. Amant, Aunt & Uncle Diane and Eric W. St. Amant and a plethora of friends whom he loved dearly.
