
She was a very special aunt who cared for and loved all her nieces and nephews. She was retired with the Louisiana Deartment of Revenue with more than 30 years of service. She was a native of Watson and resident of Baton Rouge. She died peacefully at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Flannery Oaks Guest House, surrounded by her family. Aunt Bill was 90. Visitation will be held at Live Oak United Methodist Church of Watson on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 10 a.m. until the religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Mark Crosby and the Rev. Tommy Bergeron. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her great-niece, Cindy L. Hetrick and husband David E.; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Dawn Guidry and husband Scott, Crystal Schmolke and husband Daniel, Jonathan Hetrick and wife Stephanie, Brittany Hetrick and Joshua Hetrick; great-great-great-nephew and great-great-great-niece, Austin and Alayna Page; and great-nephew-in-law, William Miller. Aunt Bill was preceded in death by her father, Jesse T. Mixon; mother, Lula West Mixon; siblings, Jesse R. Mixon, Sena Barnett and Mary E. Dixon; nephew, Jerry L. Dixon; niece, Geraldine Dixon; and great-niece, Deborah D. Miller. Pallbearers will be David Hetrick, Jonathan Hetrick, Joshua Hetrick, Daniel Schmolke, Austin Page, Seth Ott, Chris Lacara and Joseph Ott. She was a lifelong member of Live Oak United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for more than 70 years. She graduated from Live Oak High School. She was very dedicated to her Sunday school class and her Thursday morning Bible study group. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Flannery Oaks Guest House for how they cared for and loved their "Aunt Bill."
