

Dr. Willie Lee Trahan, DVM, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, born September 5, 1918 in Morse, LA, passed away on Thursday, February 09, 2012. He was a WWII Army AirCorp veteran having served in the 39th Fighter Squadron. He was retired from the U.S.D.A. and a member or the Knights of Columbus Council #3743. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church from 12pm until services at 1pm. Rev. David will be presiding over the services. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Austin Richardson, Shea Trahan, Brenton Trahan, Daniel Trahan, Travis Trahan, and Kurt Trahan. Willie is survived by his children: Peggy and Jimmy Packard, Cathi and Doug Richardson, Robert and Sidonie Trahan, Paul and Carolyn Trahan and Billy and Nancy Trahan; grandchildren: Samantha and Randy Glass, Ami and Luke LeBas, Austin Richardson, Brenton Trahan, Daniel and Abby Trahan, Travis and Amy Trahan, Kurt and Heather Trahan, and Shea and Chloe Trahan; and 9 great grandchildren. Willie is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years Genevieve Russek Trahan; son-in-law Gus Trapani; granddaughters Angie Trapani and Katie Trahan; parents Gilliam and Pamela Trahan; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The family would like to especially thank Willie’s caregivers (affectionately known as “Willie’s Angels”): Ruby Toney, Thelma Prout, Kathy Davis, Dinkey Weber and Linda Rouyea.
