
A devout Catholic and a loving husband, father and grandfather, he passed away at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, surrounded by his family, at the Butterfly Wing of Ollie Steele Burden Manor. He was 89, born Oct. 25, 1918, in Napoleonville. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eppie Manuel Landry; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Michelli; son and daughter-in-law, Gerard and Marian Landry; daughter and son-in-law, Lyddie and Charlie Hansen; 11 grandchildren, Twana Pulliam, Kellie Barton, Michael Castello, Lisa Mello, Melissa Williams, Tamara Armstrong, Dawn Biggs, Cory Landry, Terri Ezell, Vanessa Navarre and Brent Maher; and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lydie Landry. He was a member of the Men's Club and Usher Society at the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Deaf Center of Baton Rouge. He retired from Kean's Laundry, where he worked for 46 years. Visitation at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy., on Saturday, Sept. 27, from noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Memorial donations may be made to the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Building Fund or a charity of choice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff on the Butterfly Wing at Ollie Steele Burden Manor and St. Joseph Hospice and especially to Dr. Susan Nelson for their kindness to Woodrow and his family.
