

Yvonne Borne Thompson, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully on her wedding anniversary, January 24, 2026, at the age of 87. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and LSU, earning a degree in education. Yvonne taught 2nd grade for several years until the birth of her children. She was a long-time member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church where she volunteered and was a regular member of bible studies and prayer groups. She was an avid LSU sports fan, loved gardening and enjoyed traveling with friends.
Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Lori Hinton; son-in-law, Chris Lout; grandchildren, Karl Krousel, Jr. (Jessica), Jake A. Krousel (Amanda Church), Taylor B. Hinton (Chris Swanson), Shelby H. Andrews (Zach); great-grandchildren, Landon Krousel, Soryn Krousel, Sebastian, Beau, and Jude Andrews; sister, Estelle B. Holliday; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard E. Thompson; daughter, Vicki L. Thompson; her parents, Louis and Pearl Borne; brothers, Louis “Biff”, Ronnie and Bobby Borne; and her sister, Carolyn B. Stewart.
A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. until funeral service beginning at 12 noon.
