Mrs. Barreda met and married her husband, Roberto, while living in Linares. Together, they decided to move to Chicago to follow their dreams. They raised four children and made many lasting friendships while living in Illinois. Mrs. Barreda enjoyed entertaining and visiting with family and friends. She had a fondness for playing cards and loteria. Mrs. Barreda loved flowers and was always up to travel or to have an outing. She was very proud or her children and being abuelita to her four grandchildren. Mrs. Barreda was a wonderful conversationalist and had a great sense of humor and contagious laugh. In 1987, the family moved to Baytown, Texas to be closer to family and to enjoy a warmer climate. She was proud to become an American citizen.
Mrs. Barreda was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Roberto Barreda, Sr., and four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter Pilar Barreda of Houston, daughter-in-law Kim Darnell, daughter Laura Fadke of Baytown, daughter Norma Barreda of Baytown, son Roberto Barreda, Jr. of Chicago, grandchildren Kandice Barreda, Nicole Negrete, Michael Barreda and Andrew Barreda.
