Anne was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas but relocated to Longview, Texas with her parents as a child in grade school. She graduated from Longview High School and attended Kilgore JR College where she joined the Kilgore Marching Band and majored in voice and music. After completing Kilgore, she enrolled in Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. While she was there, she met her husband to be, Floyd, on a blind date while visiting her cousin in Mont Belvieu, Texas.
Anne was a very talented musician and spent some time in the San Antonio and Baytown Symphony Orchestras playing flute. She had a professional sounding singing voice also and was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall with a group of Kilgore College graduates later in life. Many years of her life were devoted to playing the organ at First Baptist Church of Mont Belvieu. She loved volunteer work and became one of the first certified EMTs in Mont Belvieu and served as a hospital volunteer in the "Pink Lady" Organization.
In order to be home when her sons were home, education was interrupted to become a Teacher's Aide at Barbers Hill. As the boys became older, she continued her education driving daily to Lamar University over several summers earning a BS in Elementary Education. She retuned to Barbers Hill teaching first and second grade. Her first love was still music so as an opening became available for a lower grade music teacher, she naturally slid into that position and stayed there until retirement.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and volunteered as a Kids Beach Club Leader.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Hunnicutt; grandparents, Noble Hunnicutt and Ruth Hunnicutt; and by niece, Amanda Johnson.
