
Aubrey John Buckalew "Buck" was born to Thomas and Nolia Buckalew on November 6, 1924 in Van Zandt County Texas. Buck left this world on March 15, 2016. He was preceded in death by Ruby Rogers Buckalew his first wife and mother of their two children, his daughter Darlene Vaughn, brother Kenneth Buckalew and three sisters Viola, Vivian and Doris May.
By 1948 Buck had left Van Zandt County and was working for Chicago Bridge and Iron building tanks and water towers. He worked for CB&I for the next 32 years and retired as a Master Craftsman and Tank Builder. During his career Buck taught hundreds of men how to build tanks, and was unmatched as the hardest working and fastest tank builder in the Houston Division of CB&I. Buck's favorite saying in life was "When it's too rough for you, it's just right for me" or "It only takes a nickel more to go first class".
He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and belonged to the Cedar Bayou Lodge #321
Buck will be missed by those that knew him, and he leaves an empty spot in the heart of those who loved him. Surviving family includes Sandra Buckalew his wife of 33 years, his son Darrell Buckalew and wife Kim, step-son Jeff Politte and wife Jennifer, and step-daughter Gail Lynn Politte. Grandchildren Troy Lee and wife Robin, Nikki Vaughn and fiancé Jeremy Holt, Holly Chandler and husband Justin, and Victoria Politte. Great Grandchildren Kyle Lee, Travis and Aubrey Chandler, and Landen and Gavin Torres. He also leaves behind two sisters Carmen, and Maxine.
Visitation is Sunday March 20, 2016 2 - 5 PM at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown Funeral Service is Monday March 21, 2016 at 2 PM Burial will be at the Cedar Crest Cemetery in the Masonic Section
