

Billy James Sutton, 91, passed away August 24, 2020. He was born June 24, 1929, to his parents, Carl Lester and Jannie Ruth Sutton, in Prescott, Arkansas. He spent his childhood in Texarkana, Arkansas, graduating in 1947 from Arkansas High School in Texarkana, Arkansas. Shortly after graduating, Billy enlisted in the U. S. Air Force., serving during the Korean War era. He was honorably discharged in 1952 after attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.
Billy had careers in banking and loan, and real estate businesses. He retired at age 75 when he moved to Baytown to be near family. While Billy never married, his love for his brother, his nephews and their children was evident in his participation in family birthdays, holiday celebrations, golf tournaments, graduations, etc. He loved playing golf and watching golf tournaments on television- He played golf three days a week with special friends until just before his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his great niece, Jennifer Lynn Sutton.
He is survived by his brother, Bobby Carl Sutton and wife, Dorothy; his three nephews Bobby Sutton, Jr., and wife, Robin; James Edward Sutton, and wife, Debbie; and Lewis Lee Sutton and wife, Laura- In addition, he is survived by five great nephews and 2 great nieces.
Billy’s remains are entrusted with Navarre Funeral Home. He will be cremated and his ashes buried beside his parents' graves in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Because of the Covid-19 virus, no memorials are planned.
