

Burl McBride, 68, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. A lifelong resident of Baytown, Burl was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, his community and his passions.
Burl proudly served as a firefighter for over 50 years, embodying bravery, compassion and a deep sense of duty. His commitment to protecting others, as well as loving to teach the youth, made Him a respected figure among his peers and in the community He served so faithfully.
Outside of his firefighting career, Burl was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, where he spent countless hours hunting and fishing. The quiet mornings in the marsh and the stillness of a fishing line in the water were where Burl felt most at peace. He shared his love for these pursuits with his family and friends, passing down his skills and knowledge to the next generation.
Burl was a devoted husband, father, Grumps and friend. His sense of humor, warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew Him.
He is survived by his wife, Toni McBride, his children, Byron and Krystal McBride, Brad and Misti McBride, Blake and Kathryn McBride. His grandchildren, Makenna and fiancé Zane, Ryland, Brookelyn, Madie, Jacob, Morgan, Merritt, Vance and Austin McBride. Sister’s, Erma Jo Cornelius, husband Jay and Kris Jean Dahlquist, husband Tony, and cousin Doc Woosley with wife Donna. Along with an endless amount of extended family and friends.
Burl was preceded in death by his parents V.H. McBride and Carolyn Sue Strauch McBride, sister Rhea McBride Smith and husband Smitty, cousin Les Woolsey.

The visitation will be Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 3pm to 5:30pm at Faith Family Church on North Main Street, Baytown, TX 77521. Mont Belvieu Fire Department will be doing a Last Call/Bell Ceremony promptly at 5:15pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to The Burl McBride Legacy via Venmo, @BurlMcBrideLegacy, confirmation code 8033. This will be a foundation that will be fulfilled yearly to help support the youth.
