

Carroll “Buddy” Harmon Jr. 95, passed away on January 28, 2025. Buddy was born on October 27, 1929, in Beaumont, Texas. He grew up in the Hankamer area. He lived in Hankamer, Dayton, Baytown, Nederland, Nacogdoches and Anahuac. Buddy spent most of his employed years working for Humble later know as Exxon. He worked as a gang hand also called a rough neck, drilling rig Supervisor, pipeline technician and also worked with a mobile school on wheels going to different Exxon locations training instrument technicians on calibration procedures, equipment maintains and troubleshooting of different types of equipment used to measure and control oil and gas movement in plants and pipeline systems.
Buddy, his wife Margaret and kids Ricky and Shella traveled to many states in the continental US. Buddy built a one wheel trailer he towed behind the car. It was used to haul all the camping gear and the top has constructed with attachable pipe legs converting it to a table. Hotels were a very rare occasion. Later after the kids were married and moved from home they travel to Israel, Canada, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, multiple ship cruses and cross-country train trip across Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Margarete Harmon, his wife Margaret Harmon, his sister Edith Colley and 3 brothers Billy, Don and Ray Harmon.
He is survived by son and daughter-In-law, Ricky and Becky Harmon; daughter and son-In-law, Shella and Jim Hill; grandchildren: Brenda Harmon, Ricky Harmon, Michael Harmon, Gary Harmon, Daken Hill and Jared Hill; 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 pm, Monday, February 3, 2025, at Navarre Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown, with the service to begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Abshier Cemetery near Hankamer Texas.
