Carol Laverne Dolgner

Carol Laverne “Verne” Dolgner, 71, of Cove, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 1, 1953, in Cleveland, Texas, to the late Jessie Jones and Mary Viola Rhodes. Verne graduated from Bryan High School, in Bryan, Texas class of 1972. On July 28, 1973, Verne married the love of her life Darvin Lee Dolgner. Together they spent the next fifty-two years raising their two amazing children and welcoming four grandchildren. She decided to further her education obtaining an associate degree in Business Administration, class of 1990.

Verne enjoyed the simple things in life, like just staying home watching the news. She was outgoing and could easily talk on the phone for hours to her sister. In fact, she looked forward to their weekly chats. Verne’s family meant everything to her. She loved nothing more than spending time with her precious grandchildren. Verne was outspoken and she had no problem letting her family know how she felt about something.

Verne was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved husband Darvin; her children Misty Dolgner and Greg Dolgner and his wife Ashley; her grandchildren Kaden Garcia, Blakeley Cantu, Woods Dolgner, and Viola Dolgner; her sister Carolyn Shelfer and husband David; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, with graveside service to follow at 3:30 PM at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
