Carol was known for her adventurous, humorous, and fun-loving spirit. She was a devoted and faithful mother, grandmother, and friend, always loyal and wise in her interactions with others.
Carol's early life was marked by resilience, having suffered from nephritis and nearly dying at the age of 12. Despite these challenges, she pursued her love for singing by participating in both school and church choirs and graduated from Waco High School.
Her career as a lab technician showcased her hard-working nature. Carol married Curtis Lee Meador in 1954 and was blessed with three children. After her divorce, she devoted herself to raising her children and ensuring that the family remained active in church and community activities.
Carol's personal interests were varied and rich. She was an avid participant in church and Billy Graham choirs, enjoyed traveling, reading, and staying informed about current events. She was a passionate fan of the Astros and football, sharing this love with her son-in-law and grandsons. Additionally, she delighted in playing games and attending the theater.
In her community, Carol was actively involved in church activities and organizations. Her personal philosophies were reflected in her sayings, such as "Put God first, and He will help you with the rest," and "Never own something that owns you. If it costs more to keep up and pay for more than you can afford, it will emotionally own you."
Carol's brother humorously noted their competitive nature but acknowledged his envy of her extensive travels. Her mission in life was to be an exceptional mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and she knocked it out of the ballpark.
Carol is survived by her brother, Robert Ford (Peggy Ford); her children, Joy Hall (John Hall), Jay Meador (Karen Mayberry), and Jana Powell (Joseph Powell); her grandchildren, Adam Hall (Jennifer Hall), Crystila (Hall) Householder, Rebecca (Meador) Mills (Larry Mills), Leah (Meador) Ellis (Chris Ellis), and Jordan Powell; and her great-grandchildren, Alexa Hall, Kaitlyn Hall, Travis Vaughn, Case Householder, Jaxon Householder, Raelyn Householder, Isabella Colbert, Rose Colbert, Paisley Ellis, and Harper Ellis. She is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carol was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Allen Duckett; her grandmother, Emily Ann Duckett father, her father, Robert Thomas Ford; her mother, Louita Ford; her aunt, Erlene Welty; her great-grandson, Bryce Logan Householder.
The family extends their gratitude to all who shared and enriched Carol's life. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her.
In her own words, Carol encouraged everyone to "Always keep a vacation jar to save for your next trip." Her spirit of adventure and joy for life will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held at St. Marks Methodist Church in Baytown, TX on October 25,2025 at 1 pm. Followed by Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.
