Catherine Jacobs

Catherine Jacobs, 82, of Baytown, born Catherine Marie Cox December 4, 1924 in Humnoke, Ark, passed away at her home, Sunday, December 31, 2006. She was devoted to her family and loved being involved in her childrens’ activities. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She pursued her lifelong dream of a career in nursing which gave her great joy. She obtained her LVN, ADN, and RN. Her compassion for others led to a very successful and fulfilling career. Her favorite place to be was in the nursery at the old San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. She was an avid Bridge player, ballroom dancer, world traveler, and enjoyed cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Jacobs; parents George and Tenna Mae Cox.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Kay Giese and husband Ed of Fort Collins, CO, Mark E. Jacobs of Orange, CA, Janice Marie Mahoney and husband John of Clear Lake, TX; step-mother Mary Lou Cox of Stuttgart, AR; brothers, Glenn “Sonny” Charles Cox and wife Marilyn of Almyra, AR, Dwight Gene Cox of Stuttgart, AR.; “sister”, Helen Lucille Saulters of Arvada, CO; grandchildren, Patrick Dees, Sean Henderson, Joy Jacobs, Mary Catherine Jacobs, Kim Giese, and Allison Mahoney.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Dr. Michael Fry. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
