I was in Mr. Foster's band at Oliveira Intermediate School in the early '80's.  He is one of a very small number of people who shaped my life in a very profound way.  He was clearly gifted as a musician, but he also was a captivating teacher who was very warm and engaging but also commanded respect.  It was clear that he loved his profession and his students, and we loved him.  In my best memories from my childhood, he is always there.

I taught with Charles at Oliveira Middle School and I will never forget the respect that the students had for him. It was something I have rarely seen. He was a remarkable role model to other educators. I never forgot him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Condolences to all of Mr. Foster's family and friends. He was my band director at Land O Lakes Jr High in Brownsville Tx. He was the greatest, learned a lot from him. Rest in peace Mr. Foster!

Mr. Foster was one of those once in a lifetime teachers. He saw the best in students. He pushed me to be a better band student, a better student, a better person. He expected more of me because he knew I had more to offer. He made an honest to goodness difference in my life and will always have a special place in my memories and heart. 

When I was a young teen Mr Foster was a hero to me. He reflected the grace of God, the love of Christ and showed me what men should be like. I’ve thought of you often and will be so glad to give you a hug and let you know how important you were in my life. Until we meet again.  I know heaven is rejoicing right now at your arrival. 

Charles was an amazing man and outstanding educator. I had the honor to be the band director at Oliveira MS in Brownsville ISD for 14 years of my career. Charles was the original director there when it opened as Land O’Lakes MS and returned several times to guest conduct the BISD All-City Bands as well as kicking off our annual band fundraisers. We always loved watching his hilarious sales presentations and enjoyed all his crazy stories of old Brownsville days. I am proud to have known him and I learned so much from this brilliant man. My condolences to all his family, friends and colleagues. He will be missed.

I can’t say enough good things about this great teacher and human being.  He is a part of my fondest school memories.  I will never forget him. 

I am sincerely sorry for your loss of Charles. May you find comfort in the many precious memories you shared as well as the promise from our Heavenly Father to restore those that have fallen asleep in death, to perfect life, on a paradise earth. As you contemplate that promise, draw close to God in prayer and he will draw close to you and provide the strength you need to carry you through the difficult days ahead. All the best wishes for your family at this time, take care of each other.

Doris,  Bubba was a wonderful guy to be around.  Polly and I are very sorry for your loss and pray that you  will  find joy in remembering the great times we all had with such a sweet fellow.
I promise you that whenever the Porco Brothers gather, Bubba will be honored.  

Dear Doris, you have my heartfelt sympathy.  I know you have many, many wonderful memories to help you handle this sad time.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

   I will always remember Charles (Bubba) as a good and gentle soul. Always felt welcome and comfortable around you guys.  So sorry he and you had struggles with his health over the past few years.  No pain. No discomfort now. 

   He’s moved on to that “better place” we like to talk about, hoping it’s there for us as well. Please know that you’re not alone. Let’s all, please stay in touch.
