Charles graduated from Lee High School in 1966. In 1969, he married Rebecca Burnett. They had two children, Patrick W. and Michael Louis. Charles and Rebecca divorced in 1975.
In 1976, Charles married Judy Sims, and became a dad to Judy's daughter, Jody L. Sims. In 1979, Charles and Judy happily welcomed the birth of their son, Richard W.
Charles is preceded in death by his son Michael Louis and nephew, Jimmy Allen Hendricks. He is survived by his wife, Judy; his sons Patrick W. Hendricks and wife Kisha and Richard W. Hendricks; his daughter Jody L. Driskell and husband Scott; 6 grandchildren Courtney Driskell, Bradley Driskell, Ashlyn Hendricks, Caden Hendricks, Cameron Hendricks and Gracie Hendricks; 4 great grandchildren Kelby Stefka, Karter Holt, Nash Hendricks and Davina Enriquez; and his brother Joe Hendricks.
