Claude attended Katy High School. He married Nancy Swenson on December 20, 1958 in Houston. Claude and Nancy raised three sons. The births of his three sons were the most important life events for Claude. Claude had deep love and affection for his family.
Claude was an honest, reliable, principled man. In 1956, Claude owned and operated Lane's Texaco Service Station in Houston, Texas and in 1961 he bought a Tenneco Service Station at San Felipe and Post Oak Drive. The Tenneco Station was completely destroyed by Hurricane Carla in September 1961. In 1962, he began working for Jewell Tea Company until 1966, when he joined Mrs. Baird's Bakery as a Route Salesman in Baytown. In 1971, Claude took the position of Store Manager at O'Brien's Grocery Store in Baytown, where he worked until 1976. He worked as the District Sales Manager for Dolly Madison Cake until 1986. Claude returned to Mrs. Baird's Bakery as a Sales Supervisor in 1986 and retired in 1999.
Claude and Nancy spent many years touring in their travel trailer. He enjoyed a good game of "42" dominoes with his friends and playing Farkle on-line. He especially enjoyed writing his "nice" comment on everybody's Facebook posts.
Claude is predeceased by his parents, seven sisters, and one brother. He will be dearly missed by those he loved, his loving wife Nancy; his three sons Donald R. Lane and wife Kim, Glenn E. Lane and wife Cathy, and Richard Lane and wife Krystal; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
