Curtis Gene Harrison

Curtis Gene Harrison, 85, of Baytown was born June 30, 1931, and was accepted into the loving arms of his Savior on Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was a 1949 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and joined the Navy that same year and served aboard the USS Coral Sea for a year. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jo Jacobs on September 1, 1950. He was a member of the Pipefitters Local 211 and owned Able Painting and Sandblasting. Curtis was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was an avid gardener and he read the newspaper cover to cover daily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Troy and Fern Robbins Harrison; granddaughter, Christine Michelle Sanders; brother, Carl Harrison; sister and brother-in-law, Troylene and Jimmy Keoughan; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, R. B. and Katherine Jacobs, Ruth and Russell Colburn, Alice and Sam Kimmey, and Albert and Pat Jacobs. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Harrison of Baytown; daughters and son-in-law, Carla and Glenn Landry of Woodland Park, CO and Barbara Harrison of Canyon Lake; step grandsons, Chris Landry of Copper Mountain, CO and Scott Landry of Baytown; step great grandson, Karsun Landry of Baytown; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday, February 23, 2017, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randy Piatt and Rev. Alan Beck officiating.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Memorial Baptist Church Bereavement Fund, 600 W. Sterling St., Baytown, TX 77520.
