Daniel C. Edwards, Jr.

He was born August 14, 1924 in Ben Franklin, Texas to his late Parents: Daniel C. Edwards and Kate Ross Edwards, Graduated from High School in Greenville, Texas and went on to earn his Accounting Degree from East Texas State University.

Mr. Edwards had lived in Baytown for the last 41 years, was a retired accountant from the Baytown Motors Company, a faithful member of First Christian Church for the last 51 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and traveling.

Daniel served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a First Lieutenant and a fighter pilot, flying P-38's during service in China, Burma and India.

He was preceded in death by his Parents a Sister: Mary Marsh and a Niece: Linda Shoppa. Survivors include: His Wife and Best Friend of 63 years: Bette Edwards of Baytown; Son: Daniel C. Edwards, III and his wife Cindy of Kerrville, Texas; Daughter: Cindy Fulton and her husband Mike of Baytown; Grandchildren: Craig Edwards and his wife Amy of Rosharon, Texas, Kristin Charter and her husband Marc of Houston and Lindsey Fulton of Austin and Great-Grandchildren: Jordan Edwards of Rosharon and Zachary Edwards of Rosharon.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Baytown with Rev. Bob Dees officiating.

The family will receive friends at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall at the conclusion of the Memorial Service.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the First Christian Church or to the Sterling Municipal Library.
