Deborah Renee Badgett

Deborah “Debbie” Renee Badgett, 66, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 7, 1959, in Baytown, to the late Larry Dean and Hattie Rose Gould Brockelman. Debbie proudly graduated from Sterling High school, in Baytown, class of 1977. At the young age of 19, she married the love of her life, a young man by the name of Herschell Badgett, Jr. They spent the next 47 years together, building a wonderful life together, raising their sons and becoming grandparents.

Debbie pursued many interests, some of which included traveling, camping, volunteering with The Relay for Life, and shopping. She also had a love for bowling with her mother, where they would travel all over the United States for tournaments. Debbie enjoyed the simple things in life like staying home watching Hallmark, but if the opportunity arose for a road trip with her husband or a cruise with the family, she was always up for it. Some of the places she visited were The Bahamas, Cabo, Rome, and Italy, which included a trip to the Vatican. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, where there was always a good time to be had. Debbie adored her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She had an infectious smile that would light up any room with her presence. Although Debbie is no longer with us, her legacy will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters Laura Whitfield and Rebecca Cole. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved husband Herschel Badgett; her sons Branden Badgett and Bradley Badgett and wife Sheila; her grandchildren Emmalynn Badgett. Kortni McElhaney, Kaitlin Rawlinson, Sierra Degeyter and husband Cody, Jasmine Thompson and husband mark, Joshua Thompson and wife Norma, and Faith Noland and husband Noah; her 8great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews; her best friend Kristina Lee; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Shane Hargraves, Michael McElhaney, James McElhaney, Mark Tyner, John McKinney, Robert Odom, and Trent Badgett

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, located at 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas, 77521, on July 25, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas, 77521, on July 26, 2025, starting at 10:00 am. A Graveside service will be held at Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery, 2850 Ferry Road, Baytown, Texas, 77520, on July 26, 2025, beginning at 11:30 am.
