

She was born May 5, 1953 in Corpus Christi to parents, Ernest Carroll, Jr. and Betty Carroll and had lived in Highlands for the last 40 years.
Debra was a Paramedic with the Highlands Fire and EMT services, a Rescue Concepts Instructor, Texas State Course Coordinator, was part of the San Jacinto College EMT Program, worked for Safety First and had taught in the Rice University EMT Program.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Carroll, Jr. and a grandson, Cody Nelson.
Survivors include her daughters, Betsy Carroll of Highlands and Sunny Martin of High Island; mother, Betty Carroll of Highlands; grandchildren, Donald M. and Stephany Findlay both of Highlands, Sheyenne Waltman of Mississippi and Darrian Nelson and Mary and Joyakay Giangrosso all of High Island; brother, Tracy Carroll and his wife Norma of Baytown; sister, Georgia Carroll-Warren and her husband John of Johnson City, Texas; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and Ashley Carroll both of Baytown and Chris Eddy of Johnson City and best friend, Kacey Sammons of Highlands.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Edwards officiating. A procession to the Highlands Fire Station will be immediately following the service.
