

Delno Elmer Brown went to be with The Lord on October 16, 2012 in Weatherford, TX. Delno was born to Max and Bessie Brown on March 19, 1917, in Barbers Hill (now Mont Belvieu), TX. He was 95 years old. Delno was also the grandson of Elmer and Amanda Barber, early settlers of the town of Barbers Hill. As a young man, he was a rice farmer for several years but his true passion was livestock. He spent most of his life as a rancher, raising cattle and other livestock. He loved horses and participated in rodeos as a tie-down calf roper. Delno loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a Christian and served the Lord as a deacon in the Baptist Church. He also taught Sunday school for many years.
Delno was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Vera Carmel Brown and his son-in-law, James A. Love. He is survived by his daughters, Carmel Sue (Susie) Love of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX and Glenda Del Brown and husband Lloyd of Kendalia, TX; son, David Errol Brown and wife Melody of Weatherford, TX; and nine grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.
His family will receive friends Sunday, October 21, 2012 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Fisher Chapel at the First United Methodist Church of Mont Belvieu, 10629 Eagle Drive, Mont Belvieu, TX 77523 with a funeral to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Mont Belvieu Methodist Cemetery.
