

Dolly J. Wallace, 86, lifelong residence of Baytown, was born February 23, 1931, in Cedar Bayou and passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017, in a Bryan hospice facility. She was a graduate of Cedar Bayou High School and Sam Houston State Teachers College. She taught at Alamo Elementary for 19 years and retired from the Goose Creek school district and was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Baytown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie K. and Annie Spencer; brothers, Charlie K. Spencer, Jr. and Lee Roy Spencer; and sister, Annie Evelyn Spencer Parker. She is survived by her husband, Douglas L. Wallace, Jr.; children and their spouses, Mike and Faith Wallace of Nederland, Glenda D’Anne Wallace and Russ and Karin Wallace, all of College Station, Chuck and Vivian Wallace of Timonium, MD, and Bill Wallace of La Porte; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Conrad Lim, Jon-Michael Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Borgie Lim, Nick Wallace, and Chad Wallace.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 6227 N. Main St., Baytown, TX 77521.
