

Born October 1, 1923 in Weslaco, Texas, she was a long time resident of Baytown, Texas. Dolores lived an active full life, never met a stranger and made many memories in her time here on earth. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother.
Dolores is survived by her 12 children and their families. Guadalupe and Eva Benavides, Librado Benavides, Maria Yolanda Garcia and Jorge Alvarado, Ignacio and Sheila Benavides Jr., Xavier and Dolores Benavides, Joe and Cheryl Benavides, Elizar and Lisa Benavides, Ruben and Jerri Benavides, Benny and Lanette Benavides, Janie and Juan Paiz, Ida DeLuna, and Louis and Sandra Benavides. She lived long enough to be blessed with twenty grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren, numerous other family members and countless friends.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Dolores Guzman, her husband of 25 years Ignacio Benavides, daughter Elvia and a set of twins. Her seventeen brothers and sisters, her son-in-law Johnny Garcia, daughter-in-law Linda Benavides and other family members are also waiting for her at heaven’s gate.
Her family will receive friends and family for visitation services at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 in the evening, with a rosary service beginning at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Baytown, Texas on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Baytown, Texas.
Her family would like to send their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Fernando Sarti, the staff of Kindred San Jacinto Methodist Hospital and the Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the care they provided to Dolores in her final days.
