

Don Hyde, 82, of Baytown, passed away December 30, 2012 at home after a long illness. He was born May 6, 1930 in North Manchester, Indiana. Mr. Hyde graduated from North Manchester High School in 1948 and then Manchester College in 1952 with a Degree in Chemistry.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 49-1/2 years, Connie Spann Hyde; mother, Maude and father, Miller. He is survived by his son, Randy Hyde and his partner Sandra F. Browder; daughter, Gerrianne Hyde and grandsons, Thomas Ernst and Ryan Hyde.
He was in the Army Airborne and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a retiree of ExxonMobil and a Mason for 40 years, was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served in the capacity of Deacon and then Elder of the church.
Don was an avid sportsman in high school and college, playing basketball, baseball, softball and running track. He also enjoyed fishing either alone or with his friends and family and had a standing appointment every Friday night to play poker with his friends.
He never met a stranger, always had a joke and a kind word, he is loved and will be missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held at Navarre Funeral Home at 6:00 P.M., Monday, January 7, 2013 with Rev. Joseph L. Lorenz officiating.
