

Doris Carroll Ferguson, 88, passed away Oct. 17, 2012. Born May 20, 1924, in Montgomery, LA, to Nettie and George Carroll. Doris and family moved to Baytown in 1933. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and was elected Miss Robert E. Lee of the Class of 1941.
Doris enjoyed life and loved family and friends. She was a talented artist. Doris and George traveled most of the U.S., and also visited several countries in Europe, Africa, Central and South America.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, George H. Ferguson, Jr.; brother, John Carroll of Victoria; sister, Elsie Keith of Baytown, and son, Thomas Ferguson of Chattanooga, TN.
Doris is survived by her sons, George Harley Ferguson, III and wife Barbara, Lawrence Alan Ferguson and wife Glenda, and daughter-in-law, Patsy Ferguson; six grandchildren, Patrick Alan Ferguson, Michael Lawrence Ferguson, Tracy Ferguson Wheelis, Amy Ferguson Kohan, Matthew Thomas Ferguson and Kristen Elizabeth Ferguson; great grandchildren, Spencer Patrick and LauraMae Rose Ferguson, Abigail Ruth and Isaac Matthew Wheelis, Robert Lawrence and Collin Michael Ferguson.
A private family interment was held on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.
