Doris W. Newton, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed at 85 years of age to her final heavenly reward on January 28, 2016. Doris was born ninth of 12 children in South Carolina where she lived until she met the love of her life, John “Jack” W. Newton, her loving husband of 64 years. She devoted her life to Jack and their three boys, Wib, Daryl and John. She considered her grandchildren one of her greatest rewards later in life. Doris was an active Christian and currently a member of the Lakewood Church of Christ.
Doris was the final of her siblings to pass and is survived by her husband, Jack Newton; her three sons and their families, Wib and Janice Newton, their sons, Jared Newton, Colton and his wife Kim, Daryl and Ann Newton, their daughter, Candis, and John W. Newton II and Sandy Newton and their daughters Sarah and Katie.
Funeral services will be on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10:00 am with the family receiving friends at 9:00 am at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
