

Dorothy Sheffield was born in Franklin Texas on April 3, 1923 and grew up in Cody Texas. She was a long time resident of Highlands and Baytown. Dorothy was an honor graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in 1943. Dorothy married Edwin Sheffield in 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee. She began her business career at Humble Oil during World War II. She continued her career working for Highlands Shell, GCCISD, Ross Sterling High School and H & R Block. Dorothy and Edwin were long time members of Highlands First Baptist Church. Dorothy also was a member of Highlands Book Club, Retired Teachers Association, Exxon Annuities Association and Eastern Stars. Dorothy loved reading, her church, her family and traveling. She was an accomplished artist, cook, seamstress, and investor. She was also an avid fan of the Ganders and Rangers alike.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Edwin Sheffield; her two children, Nancy Yancey and Brad Sheffield; her grandchildren, Sean Burnett, Jared Flowers, Joshua Flowers, Seth Flowers, Stacy Sheffield and Stefanie Sheffield; 5 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
Dorothy will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the employees at Remington Park of Baytown for their many years of loving care and concern.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15th, 2013 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at Earthman Funeral Home 3919 Garth Rd Baytown, TX 77521, with a Celebration of Life service immediately following at 5:00pm at Earthman Funeral Home.
