Eloise LaFon

Eloise LaFon, 81, of Baytown, TX, formerly Ronceverte, WV, was born December 12, 1923 in Royal, WV and passed away Friday, November 11, 2005 in a Baytown nursing home. She was retired from the Federal Prison System and loved meeting and talking to people and enjoyed crocheting and collecting glassware.

At her request, her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held in the spring in her hometown of Ronceverte, WV. The date and time will be announced at a later date.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maggie Jane Armstrong; husband, Richard Harland LaFon; sons, Richard Harland LaFon Jr. and William Robert LaFon; and brother, Roy Armstrong. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Joseph Whitehead of Baytown; grandchildren, Joseph Whitehead IV of San Antonio, Sharon Whitehead of Dallas, J’nette Williamson of Redlands, CA, Sarah LaFon of Washington, D.C.; and Robert LaFon of South Carolina; and great grandchildren, Joseph Whitehead V, Scott Whitehead, Ashley Schuler, Mikah Whitehead, Joshua Spearman, Mia Spearman, and Marissa Whitehead.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Allenbrook Healthcare Center in Baytown for their loving care during the last year of her life and a very special thank you to the members of the local Alzheimer’s Support Group and its coordinator, Lois Manier, all of whom have been such a tremendous help to her family.
