Elton Toad Hill

Elton ""Toad"" Hill, 78, of Baytown, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 in Baytown. He was born June 22, 1931 in Cove to his late parents, Ben Hill and Ila Smith Hill and was a lifelong resident of the Baytown area.

Elton graduated from Barbers Hill High School in 1949 and received a Masters Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University. He retired from the Goose Creek School District as the Principal of Lamar Elementary School after 28 years of service to the district.

Mr. Hill was an avid outdoorsman and most of all enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and hunting during his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loyce Marie Geisendorff Hill; sons, Patrick Stephen Hill and Chad Elton Hill, Sr.; brother, Irving ""Nig"" Hill and a sister, Bennie Lee Murrell.

Survivors include his daughter, Kim Futrell of Baytown; daughter-in-law, Terry Hill of Mont Belvieu; grandchildren, Chad Elton Hill, Jr., Allison K. Tyra and her husband Brad, Tara Fountain and her husband Joey, and Ashlee Heffner and her husband Mark; great-grandchildren, Blake Fountain, Lexis Hill, Cade Hill and Kash Fountain and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Harp officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Hill, Jr., Brad Tyra, Mark Heffner, Joey Fountain, Steven Radle and Bryan White. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Raymond Hobbs.
