Emma C. May

Emma C. May, 94, of Baytown, Texas was born October 10, 1919, in Centralia, Texas and passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013, in Kindred Hospital of Baytown. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and also a member of the Senior Citizens group at Lee College and the Baytown Community Center. Emma was a long-time resident of Baytown.

She worked in the Goose Creek School District for 31 years and retired as the manager of the Alamo Elementary School Cafeteria in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curnelious C. Campbell and Eva Josephine Campbell and husband Afton R. May. She leaves behind her sons, Robert A. ""Buddy"" May and Andrew May and wife, Charlene; daughter, Dovie Jo Lehr; sisters, Beatrice Harbuck, Peggy Carrell, and Patricia Millard; grandchildren and spouses, Cheryl and Chuck Kutan, Robert and Melissa May, Benny and Lori May, Robyn and Dean Rackley, Misty and Ryan McKinley, and Holly Jones; fifteen great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Beverly Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Benny May, Robert May, Andy May, Raymond Carrell, Dean Rackley and Keith Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Rance May, Myles May and Porter May.

The family would like to send out a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital and Kindred Hospital for their loving and compassionate care.
