Enrique "Rick" Xavier Gutierrez

Our beloved Pop, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and friend, Enrique “Rick” Xavier Gutierrez, 79, of Baytown, Texas, gained his wings on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2022. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on July 29, 1943, to Enrique B. and Celia Rocha Gutierrez.

He was a kind, gentle soul that never met a stranger. Although he was a petite man, his heart was bigger than Texas.

Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army. As a proud veteran, he dedicated his life as a servant leader for his community.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Lantz Gutierrez; parents, Enrique Blanco & Celia Rocha Gutierrez; brothers, Johnny Gutierrez, George Gutierrez, and Ernesto Antonio Cordova.

He is survived by his son, Eric Thomas Gutierrez, Sr. and wife, Yvonne; grandchildren: Nicholas Ryan Gutierrez, Johnathan Paul Gutierrez, and Eric Thomas Gutierrez, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Ryan Lee Gutierrez and Amelia Rose Gutierrez; siblings: sister, Alma Marie Balderas of Cypress, Texas; brother, Richard Rocha and wife, Lynn of Midland, Texas; sister, Corinna Brown and husband, Richard of Georgetown, Texas; brother, Gerald Gutierrez of Baytown, Texas; brother, Alfred Gutierrez and wife, Deborah of Baytown, Texas; sister, Tina Neff and husband, Van of Dallas, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and his second family, VFW Chapter 922.

Honored to serve as pallbearers: Nicholas Ryan Gutierrez, Johnathan Paul Gutierrez, Eric Thomas Gutierrez, Jr., Joseph Rivera, Don Bobo, and Howard Brault. Honorary Pallbearer: Ryan Lee Gutierrez.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. Rick will be laid to rest with full military honors presented by the United States Army in conjunction with the Baytown Veterans Ceremonial Guard at Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands, TX.
