

F. M. ""Joe"" Hooper, 59, of Baytown was born October 8, 1953 in Baytown and passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at his home. He was a 1972 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School and a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. Joe owned and operated Hooper's Exxon Service Station before going to work as an operator at the ExxonMobil Mont Belvieu Plastics Plant. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family but he especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball.
He was preceded in death by his father, A. C. ""Bubba"" Hooper and infant son, Jacob Wade Hooper. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jan Owen Hooper, daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie Cole and Jason Keene and Jenny and Patrick Files, and mother, Lola Hooper, all of Baytown; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ray LaCour of Clear Lake; grandsons, Colton Hanks and Landon, Tanner, and Parker Files; his dog, Pico; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bob White, Rick Blystone, Wayne Wilson, Dennis Mulkey, Steve Bennett, and Robert Henry.
