

Fatima Meriem Sedtal-Moberg, a beloved, brave, and compassionate mother, passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on August 14, 1984, in Toms River, New Jersey, Fatima was a resident of Baytown, Texas. Her life was marked by her faithful, generous, hard-working, resilient, selfless, and wise nature.
After leaving New Jersey, Fatima attended school in Buna, Texas. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Lamar University in 2012, followed by an MSA. In 2016, she achieved her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law, followed by an LLM from Boston University. During high school, she excelled in academic and music UIL competitions, consistently achieving top scores and first place in all events.
Fatima began her career with TurboTax as a tax expert before quickly becoming a seasonal manager and then a full time manager of the business division. Fatima was highly regarded by her employees, who often invited her to personal events and trips. She was also invited to speak at events and conferences about her life and to assist with marketing for her job. Additionally, Fatima provided pro bono tax services to low income individuals through her private practice.
Fatima married her soulmate Paul Moberg December 10, 2011. They met in business law class while attending Lamar University. She is survived by her children, Karima Sedtal, Halima Moberg, Annalisa Moberg, and Seth Moberg. Additionally she is survived by her brother Ali Bahlouli Jr., his wife Katie, their children Aria and Alexia, and her father Ali Bahlouli Sr. She is preceded in death by her sister Yvonne Gilson and mother Lula Jane Monson.
Her interests included history, particularly period pieces during the Regency and Victorian eras, along with a love for travel and reading. Fatima had a talent for making people smile and brought joy into their lives. She cherished exploring her Korean and Moroccan heritage, particularly through cooking. Her musical tastes included artists like Smashing Pumpkins, Tori Amos, Johnny Cash, Yungblud, Queen, and David Bowie.
In her community, Fatima was a sponsor and treasurer for the GCM cheer booster club, helping to raise over $15,000 to fund their events. She also supported the First Baptist Academy, where Anna and Seth attend.
Fatima valued her family above all, always seeking to be involved in her children's lives. She was a loving wife who cared deeply for her husband. She believed in forging one's own path and achieving anything one desires. Fatima never wanted to dwell on the past, always looking toward the future.
Her friends and relatives are thanked for their support and love for Fatima. She would have cherished everyone who came to be here.
