

Francis ""Frank"" Campbell of Baytown died peacefully at home with his sweetheart and wife Thelma at his bedside on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the age of 91. He was born on April 9, 1921 in Foreman, AR. He volunteered for the Civilian Conservation Corps prior to enlisting in the U. S. Navy in 1942. He was a Seabee in the Pacific Theater until the end of WWII. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Baytown where he was employed as a welder for Humble Oil and Refining for 15 years. Frank was the owner-operator of Campbell's Texaco on Alexander Drive for 20 years. His favorite and final job was as a security officer at Robert E. Lee High School until he retired at the age of 69.
He was an avid gardener of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Sharing the bounty of his ½ acre was his greatest joy. He was a faithful member of the Pruett and Lobit Church of Christ. Frank dedicated his life to his family, friends, faith, and farming.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ollie Campbell; brother, Lee Campbell; and sister, Marguerite Campbell. He is survived by Thelma, his loving and faithful wife of 63 years and his adoring children, Connie and Gregg Arndt of Huffman, Steve and Kris Campbell of Fort Worth, and Jim and Lynn Campbell of Austin, as well as his pride and joy granddaughter, Molly Campbell of Fort Worth. He is also survived by 3 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services with military honors will be Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Jesse Flowers officiating. Graveside services will be private.
