Gene was a true entrepreneur at heart, always ready to dive into new ventures that served his community. From cutting down trees to supplying and inspecting fire safety equipment and real estate, he had his hands in a bit of everything. Gene and his brother Larry built the first dome home in Baytown. He was also in business with his brother Steve and then his son Eddie repairing video games and juke boxes. He often said he could fix anything that you could put a quarter in. With grit and hard work, he turned these ventures into successful businesses that not only took care of his family but also gave back to the community he loved.
But Gene's journey wasn't just about business. When he faced serious health issues, including a heart condition, he didn't back down. Thanks to a life-saving heart transplant, he got an extra thirteen years to live life to the fullest. Every day, he faced his challenges with a smile, inspiring everyone around him with his strength and positive attitude. More than that he was a giver who was ready to help anyone in need. His clients knew they could depend on him any time and any day.
As he navigated through life, Gene found solace and support in his church community, building deep connections with fellow believers. It was there, surrounded by friends and guided by his faith, that he found peace in his final days.
Gene's legacy isn't just about the businesses he built or the challenges he overcame. It's about the kindness he showed, the resilience he embodied, and the love he shared with those around him, especially his family. Though he may be gone, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest easy, Gene, knowing that your legacy of strength and compassion will never be forgotten.
