George Evans Dabney, Sr.

George Evans Dabney, SR., 80, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2007. He was born April 18, 1927 in Daisetta, Texas. After high school graduation in Baytown, Texas, he served 3 yrs.in the Navy. He attended Stanford University and the University of Texas, where he played football. He worked as an Industrial Engineer for Industrial Insulators and was President of Power Specialty Co. of Houston before his retirement in 1995. George was a member of the Pine Forest Country Club of Houston, Rockport Country Club and Squeaky Windmill Hunting Club of South Texas.

His parents, George and Pansy Evans Dabney and two brothers, Jack Q. Dabney and R. L. Dabney preceded George in death.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Dabney of Rockport; son, George Evans (Susan) Dabney, Jr. of Houston, daughter, Julie (Ronald) Dabney Guthrie and granddaughter, Dabney Elizabeth-Ann Guthrie all of Rockport along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77520.
