

George Luiz Estrada was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who left us on November 7th, 2023. George was born 06/13/1958 in Colorado City, Texas to Rodolpho Tellez Estrada and Maria Magdalena Cortez Estrada. He was one of twelve siblings. He embarked on his educational path at St. Joseph Catholic School, shaping the foundation of his character and values. George's high school years unfolded at Lee High School, where he not only pursued academic excellence but also laid the groundwork for a life marked by resilience and determination. Remarkably, at the tender age of fifteen, George entered marriage, embracing the responsibilities and joys of family life and the births of his three sons. George attended San Jacinto College in North Shore, Texas and the University of Houston in Houston, Texas aiding him in advancement with his future career paths in safety management and petroleum engineering. His early career saw him at Kroger grocery store, where he learned the importance of hard work and dedication. With a steadfast commitment to public service, George transitioned to becoming an EMT, dedicating himself to the well-being of others in times of need. His career path later led him to serve as a Lead Operator/ HAZMAT Responder at the Solvay Polymers Unit in Deer Park, Texas and Project Lead HSSE at British Petroleum in Whiting, Indiana, and ES&H Process Safety Management Engineer for Pfizer in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Through each chapter, George demonstrated not only professional acumen but also a deep sense of responsibility for the safety and well-being of those around him. As we reflect on George's life, we remember a man who navigated the diverse landscapes of Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, leaving an indelible impact on the communities he touched. His journey was a testament to his resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to his family.
George is preceded in death by his father Rodolpho Tellez Estrada, mother Maria Magdalena Cortez Estrada, brother Jesse Estrada, brothers-in-laws Jack Picon Jr., Cesario Torrez, Eddie Torres, Raymundo Montoya and four grandchildren Jesus Martinez, Luis Martinez, Matthew Martinez and Jacob Martinez.
Those left to cherish George’s memory include his loving wife Rosa Maria Estrada, six children, John Estrada (Ruth Estrada), Christopher Estrada (Lynn Estrada), Samuel Gorashko (Justin Gorashko), Luis Martinez (Diana Martinez), Jesus Benito (Ysabel Martinez), Maria Isabel Rios (Rodolfo (Rudy) Rios) and eleven grandchildren - Noah Estrada, Natalie Name, Ethan Estrada, Owen Estrada, Connor Gorashko, Jordan Anthony Martinez, Skye Martinez-Gil-Pellegrino, Isabella Martinez, Andrea Sagredo, Alyssa Nicole Rios, Rodolfo (Rudy) Rios III, Ryan Rios and one great-grandchild, Rodolfo (Rudy) Rios IV. He also leaves his sisters Amabilia (Amy) Picon, Dolores (Lola) Torres, Olga Estrada, Miroslava (Kena) Torrez, and Obdulia (Lulu) Montoya, and brothers Rodolpho (Rudy) Estrada Jr, Albert Estrada, Ramses (Joe) Estrada, Otoniel (Otto) Estrada and Javier (Bear) Estrada.
George's dedication to his children was evident by the values he instilled and the support he provided. George loved his blended family. The profound significance of his family represented the opportunity for growth and the boundless capacity of the human heart to embrace and nurture beyond biological ties. George created an environment where love and acceptance could thrive. George was a beacon of strength, love, and kindness. George enriched the lives of his own children but also became a guiding presence, imparting invaluable lessons about love, inclusivity, and the transformative power of familial bonds. George took immense pride in the accomplishments of all his children and grandchildren, and he found joy in their happiness and successes.
George was a man of many passions. His love for music, particularly the guitar, was a constant source of joy throughout his life. The melody of his favorite tunes will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of listening. A baseball enthusiast, Coach and avid player himself George could often be found cheering for his son Chris or coaching little league teams. Always, sharing the excitement of the game with friends, family, and grandchildren. Baseball held an endearing place in George’s heart and the time spent enjoying it. One of George's greatest joys was his ranch he shared with his beloved wife Rosa, a place where he found solace and connection with the land. George and Rosa poured their hearts and souls into the ranch they built together. Whether tending to projects or caring for his animals, he embraced the serenity of rural life and the time spent with his love. His affection for the ranch was a testament to his appreciation for the simple pleasures of nature and life. George always loved the outdoors camping, fishing and hunting with his boys, nephews and brothers. George was a skilled gardener and could plant and make anything grow without question. George cherished his role as a grandfather. His face would light up with pride and love at the mention of any of his grandchildren’s names. He reveled in the laughter, the stories, and the joy they brought into his life. Their affection for him reflected the warmth and kindness he extended to each of them and instilled in their parents. The light in Georges eyes and heart could brighten even the darkest of places. May the memory of George Estrada continue to inspire us all to approach life with determination, compassion, hard work and a spirit of service and love. George brought joy and warmth to the lives of those around him, leaving an enduring mark on the hearts of family and friends.
