

Georgia Della (Hollomon) Haltom, 92, of Baytown, was born September 9, 1925 in Camden, TX and passed away Monday, October 16, 2017. She had worked as a home-maker until 1974, when she went to work for People’s State Bank. She retired from Bank of America after 20 years of service and began a second career as a premier cake creator. During the time she was creating cakes for weddings, business functions and even a cake to celebrate a NASA event, she worked as a volunteer at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, Alexander Campus. She received her 25 year pin from the volunteer organization a few years ago.
Mrs. Haltom was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alice Hollomon; husband, W. I. (Tex) Haltom; sisters, Winnie Gray and husband, Dewey, Helen Martin, Falby Cauble and husband, Don; nephews, Wayne Gray and James Harmon Hollomon; and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Haltom. She is survived by her children, Lavon Herrington and husband, Mike, Alice Jeffrey and husband, Mike, Weldon I. Haltom Jr., and Della Haltom Braden and husband, Tommy; and too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to list.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday, October 20, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 12:00 Noon at the Pine Grove Cemetery near Camden, with Pastor Mark Wells from Central Baptist Church, Baytown, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Jeffrey, Alan Jeffrey, Justin Herrington, Carson Jeffrey, Jasper Jeffrey and Dalton Boone.
