

Georgia Ruth Shannon Vosloh, of Crosby, was born on January 24, 1936 in Ingleside, Texas, to James Wallace “Pop” Shannon and Ruth Mary Hathaway Shannon and gained her Angel wings on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the age of 85.
She is survived by her son, Wallace Shannon Vosloh; daughter, Georgia Micha’el Vosloh and boyfriend Robert “Bobby” Gary Harold Owens; and his son, Dalton Lee Owens and wife Erin, and a host of cherished family members and special friends. She was an animal lover and will be missed by all her furbabies (dogs, cat, horses, goat, cows and a 22 year old turtle) and especially her little dog Angel who was always by her side.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy Vosloh; brother-in-law/sister LD “Son” and Mary Louis Shannon Weaver; brother-in-law/sister-in-law Lee Roy and Gretchen Slade Vosloh Simpson Jr.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee in 1954 where she was a proud member of the Robert E. Lee Band. She attended Lee College and went to work at Ethyl Corporation in Pasadena, Texas where she met Roy. They were married on March 6, 1964.
She was a long time member of Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church where she was Bazaar Chairman for many years and was also known as “The Snow Cone Lady” at bible school. She volunteered with PTA, Baytown Youth Fair, Cedar Bayou 4-H, Ross S. Sterling Band Booster Club and FFA Booster Club, and Gulf Coast Quarter Horse Association. Her and Roy were members of the Bayshore Fine Rides Car Club and enjoyed going to car shows and swap meets all over Texas. They also enjoyed camping in their travel trailer with the Fun Travelers Trailer Club.
She worked at GCCISD in the Food Service Department and enjoyed painting the art work in the cafeterias and decorating for special events and holidays with catering. She was a big Houston Astros fan.
The family would like to thank her very special doctors of many years, Dr. Mary Hewitt, MD, Dr. Farouk Barbandi, MD, and Dr. Edward Leahey, MD, and nursing staff at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church Alexander Chapel, 2714 Ferry Rd., Baytown, Texas 77520. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery, Baytown, Texas. The family is requesting that everyone please wear a mask.
