Gladys Merritt

Gladys Merritt, 91, of Baytown was born February 28, 1925, in Crosby and passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, in a local hospital. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. She retired from Bay Fair Department Store and was a great cook who loved taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosie and John Krampota; husband, Vernon Merritt; and grandson, Troy Drewery. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Merritt and Linda and Ken Howell and grandsons, Keith Drewery and Guy Drewery, all of Baytown; great grandchildren, Shirley Gailynn and Josh Williford, Taylor Caylynn and Daniel Matejko, Merritt Leanne Drewery, Tomas Ray Drewery, Payton Edward Drewery, and Autumn Michelle Drewery; great great grandchildren, Jonah Barrett Williford and Maverick James Drewery; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne Merritt and Stella Merritt.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
