

Jack Bishop, 85, of Pasadena, formerly Baytown, was born May 20, 1921 in Gilmer and passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007 in a Pasadena hospital. He was a Certified Master Watchmaker and Manufacturing Jeweler and attended Parkview Church of Christ. He was a U. S. Air Force WWII veteran who served in the European Theatre and attended annual reunions of his 349th Troop Carrier Group. He was a 50 plus year member and past president of the Baytown Lion’s Club and a member of the Old Geezers Club. He also was a member and Past Master of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #1192 and a member of the Baytown Shrine Club. Jack was a supremely devoted grandfather and great grandfather who loved to be in a group and to entertain and visit.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Dinky Bishop and is survived by his wife, Jeneanne Bishop of Pasadena; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Skip Rome of Baytown; stepdaughter, Shelly Brown of Jacksonville; stepsons, Jace Sims and Raphe Sims, both of Houston; grandchildren, Rachael Buell and husband Brandon, Kyle Rome, Christopher, Tucker, and Whitney Sims, Jason and Jared Sims, and Garrett and Presley Brown; 11 great grandchildren, and a multitude of friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Jerry Fite officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery with military honors.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Odom, Jerry Williams, Kyle Copeland, Jason Trick, Robert Lomax, Billy Simons, Tommy Morris and Bill Hedrick.
Honorary pallbearers will be survivors of the 349th Troop Carrier Group.
Jack’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Jerome Arceneaux for his care and compassionate service.
