Jessie Ella Bender

Jessie Ella Bender, 94, of Baytown, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2005. She was born May 4, 1911 in Trinity, TX. She taught elementary school in Baytown at Ashbel Smith and Carver Jones from 1954 until 1975. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the A.A.U.W. During WWII she served as a WAV in the Navy, where she met her future husband, George D. Bender.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George D. Bender.

She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Kusnir and husband Frank of Incline Village, NV, Dr. Ann Bender and husband Tom Connally of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Dana Kusnir of Reno, NV, Brad Kusnir of Chandler, AZ, Gina Salvato of Houston, TX, Michael Salvato of Nacogdoches, TX, Marry Salvato of Austin, TX; niece, Mary Zycha of Baton Rouge, LA.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, officiated by Rev. Joseph Spitler. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Jessie Bender to Trinity Episcopal Church Building Fund.
