Our wonderful and beloved mom, Jimmie Lee Fayle Hill was born on December 13, 1925 and went to be with our Lord on November 3, 2020. We rejoice that she is now with our Heavenly Father, her beloved husband, and many of her loved ones.
What a full life our precious mom led. She was born and raised in Goose Creek, and was the youngest of five siblings. She was a Robert E. Lee cheerleader, member of the Robert E. Lee Brigadiers, crowned Miss Baytown, and competed in the Miss Texas Pageant. She shared many fun stories while she was stewardess with Braniff Airlines. She then became a dance instructor with Fred Astaire Dance Studio- what a dancer she was!
After attending the University of Texas at Austin, mom went to work at Jones Drug Store in Baytown where she met and fell in love with the pharmacist, our dad, Dr. Robert E. Hill. They married in 1949. As dad was fulfilling his dream of becoming a doctor, mom worked at the University of Texas at Galveston Medical School.
Mom and dad had a true love for the University of Texas Longhorns. They were big supporters of the Baytown Texas Exes and the University of Texas Alumni Association. The ringing of her cowbell and her constant cheering even during the replays, which dad was quick to remind her, “it’s just a replay mama!” was the norm of game day. Undoubtedly, mom and dad had orange blood.
We will remember mom for her strong faith, unbelievable love, but most for her unwavering guidance and support she gave us throughout the years.
Mom has left behind her two children, Robert (Bo) Hill Jr. and his wife, Terri, Kay Glandt and her fiancé, Preston Antonini.
Mom’s real passion were her grandchildren. Jimbo Hill, Laine Morales, Mimi Johns and Bailey Glandt.
We look forward to sharing incredible memories with her great-grandchildren, Anthony Morales, Robert Morales, Zeke Rodrigues, Jackson Hill, Gunner Johns, JoJo Johns, Cosby Johns, and Paxton Johns.
We wish to thank Rachel Eligon, Geraldene Francis, Stacy Eligon, Paula Green, and Crystal Eligon who helped us take such good and loving care of our mom throughout the years. We would also like to thank Traditions Hospice and Continuous Care.
In lieu of flowers mom asked that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Visitation will be held, Saturday November 7, 2020 at Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church Cemetery.
