Joan Crawford

Joan Crawford, 85, longtime resident of Baytown, went to be with the Lord on Friday March 4, 2005. She was born January 1, 1920 in Blue Springs, Mississippi. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and she was a cashier for Wiengartens Grocery Store for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. W. Crawford; parents, Marshall and Bert Starnes; sisters, Ella Gentry, and Judy Jordan.

She is survived by her nieces, Elinor Vance Gentry of Houston, Betty Jo McBrayer of Blue Springs, Mississippi; nephews, Bobbie Gentry of Huntsville, Alabama, Billy Hall and Wife Judy of Vian, Oklahoma; great nephews, Ray Roy Jr., Stephen McBrayer and wife Linda, and Terry McBrayer and wife Tonya; great great nephews, Jason Roy, Casey McBrayer; great great nieces, Candace Roy, Brittany McBrayer, and Kayla McBrayer.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas, officiated by Pastor Bob Sanders.
