Jon Efren Dizon, MD

Jon Efren Dizon, M.D. was born in Tarlac City, Philippines on March 4, 1940, the son of Aquilino and Cecilia Dizon. He graduated as valedictorian of his high school class, and attended the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. While attending medical school, he met the love of his life, Perla Espino. Jon and Perla graduated from medical school, and emigrated to the US in 1965, where they married in New Jersey.

Jon and Perla completed an internship and residency in Pediatrics in Newark, New Jersey, and relocated to Trenton, New Jersey where they welcomed 2 sons, John and Jason. In 1975, the family moved to the small farm community of Cass City, Michigan where they practiced until 1979. Tiring of the cold weather, the family moved to Baytown, Texas in 1979, where husband and wife opened Dizon Pediatrics, and have served the community for the last 46 years. During that tenure they served at all 3 Baytown hospitals, eventually settling at Houston Methodist Baytown. Jon served as Chief of Staff in 1985.

Jon passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025 in Baytown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Perla, sons John Edward Dizon, MD, and wife Susan, RN and Jason Everett Dizon, attorney-at-law, and wife Elizabeth, brothers Aquilino Dizon MD, and Arturo Dizon, sisters-in-law Nancy Quindoy and Zenida Dizon, brother in-law Ben Espino, RN, and wife Amor, RN, as well as grandsons Joshua, Jacob, Julian, Jonathan, and Preston. Also, nephews Robert Dizon, RN and wife Aileen, RN, Dennis Dizon, RN and wife Maripi, RN, David

Dizon, RN and wife Angela, RN, Joseph Dizon, PT and wife Rowena, PT, Rodney Quindoy, RN and wife Melissa, RN, Randy Quindoy and wife Kate, RN, Ben Espino RN, Ishmael Espino, OT and wife Lynne, and Jeffrey Espino, PT, and wife Mariana.

Jon loved children, and enjoyed serving the community as a pediatrician for almost a half century. He cherished the professional and personal relationships he developed. His legacy will be the 2 generations of children he cared for and leaves behind.
