

Jon was born January 14, 1931, in Paris, Texas to his late parents, F.G. Golden and Florence Johnson Golden, graduated from high school in Hugo, Oklahoma, lived in Baytown for the last 52 years, was a retired Heavy Truck Sales Engineer from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service, served as Election Judge for the local Democratic Party and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during the Korean conflict.
His hobbies included fixing cars, traveling, playing solitaire on the computer and woodworking. He was also known as a man with a sharp wit.
Mr. Golden was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Golden.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret Veyre Golden of Baytown; son, Chris Golden and his wife Monica of Friendswood; daughters, Leigh Anne Golden and her husband Mohammed Arif of Chicago, Illinois, Melissa Peterson and her husband Michael of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Carole Golden and her husband Jason Wagner of Taylor Lake Village; grandchildren, Anissa Arif, Hussain Arif, Ali Arif, Zulkernain Arif, Marshall Peterson, Warren Peterson, Owen Peterson, Michael Golden, Will Golden and Joe Golden; brother, Edward Golden and his wife Betty of Houston and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas with Monseigneur Seth Hermoso officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
