June R. Evans

She was a woman with a big heart who loved her family, children and pets. She was a good cook and was known for making exceptional gumbo. She enjoyed crocheting and sharing it with others. She was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Baytown.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Calvin Evans, a sister, Ann Steele, and infant son, Calvin Evans, Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Himes and husband Dennis, a son, Tracy Evans, a grandson, Cody Himes, a sister, Althea Madges, two brother-in-laws, Homer Evans, brother and sister-in-law, Geraldine and Ernest Harris, a special family member Charlcie Sowell, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of 2 South and the IMCU Units of San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, and Cedar Bayou Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Baytown.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the First Church of Nazarene in Baytown, TX.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel, 3919 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Derek Triggs officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedar Crest Cemetery, 3100 Ferry Rd, Baytown, TX.
