

Karl Ian Wikstrom, 72, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Baytown. He was born June 9, 1944 in Glasgow, Scotland to his late parents, Harold Benson Wikstrom and Sarah Veronica Grant Wikstrom. He and his brother, Paul came over, on a ship, with their Mamma to Virginia when they were about a year old.
Karl was in the US Navy for 26 years, where he was in the Navy Band and played the trombone. He retired from the Navy and later worked at a Post Office in Louisiana and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois Guidry.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Meineke Wikstrom; brother, Paul Wikstrom and his wife Loretta; sisters, Veronica Erwin and Deborah Meyer and her husband, Bryan; brother-in-law, Tim Guidry; daughter, Merrilue Mataya; granddaughter, Merrick Annabelle Martha Yvonne Reem and her children, Austin-James Reem and Ian Moore; granddaughter, Monica Howe Lorek and her children, Samantha Redd and Ryne Lorek; nieces and nephews, Keri Wiley, Jeanine Copeland, Brent Guidry, Ryan Guidry, Emily Hosier, Miranda Johnson and Damon Erwin.
The family will accept friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at Navarre Funeral Home. A service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Eddie Norris officiating. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
