
Laura Katherine Singleton, 81, of Baytown was born December 5, 1923 in Houston and entered God’s kingdom Sunday, May 29, 2005 after a short illness. Laura worked at Brown Shipyard during WWII. It was during this time she met and married her one love, John. Laura was a homemaker and a quilter…making many quilts for her children and grandchildren. She loved RV-ing and playing dominoes with friends. She was a member of Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Minnie Ola Grant and her husband, John Singleton and is survived by her daughter, Nancy Klingsporn of Belton; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Dolores Singleton and Stephen and Diane Singleton, all of Baytown; grandchildren, Jan and Greg Haney of Belton, Karen and Danny Guajardo of San Antonio, John and Anna Singleton, Ray and Laura Singleton, and Tori and Jerad Bell, all of Baytown; and she was blessed with eight great grandchildren who brought her great joy.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at White Cemetery in Highlands with Rev. Tommy Lyles and Rev. Kenn Munn officiating.
Her family would like to extend many thanks to the staff of Remington Park Assisted Living facility where she lived since 2001 and to the San Jacinto Methodist and Triumph Hospitals fore their care and compassion.
